Jefferson High School has hosted both Cross Country and Track and Field Invitationals since 1984.
The cross country invitational was originally a class meet and was converted to an invitational format in 1989. It has grown from an 8 school field to over 40 schools and 1000 athletes competing on a regular basis. We are lucky to host our meet at the beautiful
Sterling State Park , located on the shore of Lake Erie. The course has changed as the topography of the park has also changed over the years. Athletes from Canada and Ohio have competed at the invite over the years and many state qualifiers and a few state champs have also competed.
Our track and field invitational also got its start in 1984 with 8 teams.
With the installation of our 8 lane polyurathane track at Marc Cisco/Alumni Field in 1990, we now host 16 boys and girls teams at the annual spring classic. Our track is located at
Jefferson High School in Monroe, Michigan.
